The 13-acre farm houses a Rambutan Orchard, Spice Garden, Rubber Plantation, Vegetable Garden, Fish Pond, Domestic animals, Bee keeping units etc.
Perennial Crops:
Rubber Plantation: The process of tapping, harvesting the latex and making the sheets happen throughout the year.
Rambutan Orchard: The rich red colour fruits transcend the farm ambience to the next level. Harvesting season starts in June and goes on till mid August.
Nutmeg: This is another crop that grows well in this part of the world. The harvesting season again falls in the months of June till October.
Jackfruit Trees: Jackfruits in their numerous varieties and different forms holds a special place in the diet of people in this part of the world. Harvesting season goes on from April to August.
Coconut Trees: Coconuts hold a special place in traditional Kerala cuisine. Harvested thrice a year, the process of drying the kernels and extracting the oil for domestic purpose is an interesting activity in every household.
Mango Trees: Even though John’s Farm and Home is not a destination for Mangoes, there are a few varieties of Mango trees growing in the farm. The harvesting season again starts in the month of April till mid June.
Mangosteen: This plant is a recent addition to John’s farm and bears a highly valued and delicious purple fruit. If you’ve never tasted a mangosteen, then you have never tasted the most exquisite fruit of the tropics.The harvesting season falls between March and August.

Animals and Pets
Cattle: The farm has a pair of Vechoor cattle – a rare breed named after the Vechoor village in Kottayam district.
Dogs: The Farm is home to a Great Dane and a Labrador – the security officers of the property!
Cats: Chakki and Chandu are a pair of local breed who came as refugees to John’s Farm and Home and has made it their home ever since.
